Catherine: These pajamas are really old, really, really old. Mother hates them. She wouldn’t even let me take them to Vassar. I’ve had them since I was a kid. I know I am nineteen. But I still love Lady and the Tramp. And I haven’t gotten much taller since I was wearing these new. So they were ski pajamas? But I wore holes in the knees. So I cut off the legs and hemmed them and now they’re shorts. And they are frayed but I don’t care I hide them and put them on after Mother has gone to bed, because Mother would be so angry and I just hate making her angry. It almost makes me sick. So I need to go because if she caught me down here, she would be so angry and that look she gives me …
