Duration: 2 minutesGender: MaleAge: Older AdultGenre: Comedy
Context: Abe objects to being called an asshole by someone who hasn't met him.

Abe: Asshole is an unfair word for someone you’ve not met. A judgement on a story you’ve not heard. But fine. I’ll start. I’ll tell my story. Though. “Start”. How does one start? Whatever I might say would lead me back a step, and then again another step. Should I start with I was born sixty something years ago in Brooklyn to immigrants? This would only take me to my parents and their story and so on and so on. The only thing this proves is that I have good genes. That all my ancestors did live until an age when they could procreate, and then they procreated with success. Since the start of time. But fine. There was a crash. My car. I am guilty, yes, I guess. I drove the car and so I must be guilty. I am guilty of so many things but that does not suggest that any of this is my fault. And that is a distinction. Guilt and fault. Guilt I know. Fault … The fault is in our stars. But fine. We need a start, so let’s look for a start. I choose the start to be not birth, but death. And yet. I can’t start there. For that would kill me. Again. So I’ll start here.
