The End of the World and Other Fables — Jogger

Greg Lam

Duration: 1 minuteGender: NeutralAge: AdultGenre: Dark Comedy
Context: A jogger in the near future invites a stranger to join those who adapt.

Jogger: That will take getting used to. Alright, I think we will enjoy this. Decades of lies, hatred, skullduggery, and destruction lie ahead of us. Together we will weaken societies, erode trust, and make people act against their own self-preservation. It starts here today, with one blood sucking parasite meeting his soul mate. It will not end until the Earth has come under our heel. (As he speaks it turns into a campaign speech.) Ladies and gentleman I accept your nomination! As a proud … American, I will fulfill the promise I made those many years ago to my beautiful wife, mother of my five children, on the day we met. We will bring about a new, warmer morning in America! A temperature change that we believe in! In this year 2026 (Actual year of production), are you going to be like the dinosaurs, unable to adapt to a changing world? Or are you going to join us, and be the one who adapts?
