DANIEL DAMIANO is an award-winning playwright, award-nominated screenwriter, actor, poet and novelist based in Brooklyn, NY. He has had plays produced throughout many areas of the U.S. as well as London, England and Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. Recent productions of his plays include the acclaimed World Premiere of his latest solo play ONE WITH THE CURRENT (2022 Dream Up Festival/Theater for the New City), THE LEPERS (37th Annual Marathon of One-Act Plays, Ensemble Studio Theatre, NYC), AMERICAN TRANQUILITY (East Village Playhouse, along with previous incarnations at the PIT Loft, 2018 Downtown Urban Arts Festival and, in Washington, DC, as part of the 2019 Capital Fringe Festival), as well as the World Premiere of HARMONY PARK (Detroit Repertory Theatre). His acclaimed play DAY OF THE DOG is published by Broadway Play Publishing. His acclaimed plays HARMONY PARK, THE GOLDEN YEAR and THE DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE OF PRIVATE PITTS are publshed in PLAYS BY DANIEL DAMIANO – Volume 1, by fandango 4 Art House, released in September 2022. His new play THE WILD BOAR was a recent 2022 Finalist for Dayton Playhouse’s Futurefest, as well as a previous Finalist for the 2019 Woodward/Newman Drama Award and the 2019 Janet & Bruce Bunch Award. His latest one-act THE SURVEY was also a Finalist for the 2022 David Einhorn Memorial Playwriting Award. His screenwork includes the adaptation of his short play THE LEPERS, which was honored as Outstanding Production-Narrative Short in the 2020 Queens World Film Festival and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. His debut novel, THE WOMAN IN THE SUN HAT (2021 Seattle Book Review Recommendation), was released in March 2021 through fandango 4 Art House, as was his debut poetry collection, 104 DAYS OF THE PANDEMIC in September 2021. He has been a recipient of the Christopher Brian Wolk Award for Playwriting, as well as a Finalist for the 2012 Arts and Letters Prize for Drama and a 2013 Nominee for the Pushcart Poetry Prize. His poetry has been published in Curlew Quarterly, Newtown Literary Journal, Cloudbank, HotMetal Press, New Voices Anthology 2016 and Crooked Teeth Literary Magazine. His forthcoming novel is GRAPHIC NATURE.
