Description

Four Native American women are desperate to find missing friends and relatives in the face of apathetic sheriffs and dwindling clues. Are their loved ones lost? Were they taken? Are they even alive? This moving play celebrates the power of community as the four women seek answers against all odds. Their roller coaster journey involves mystery, grief, prayer, and moments of sudden joy. The promises of new evidence may erode loyalties, but real answers may be revealed by working together.

Press Quotes

“Missing indigenous women is an exploding epidemic. This beautiful and moving new play, FOUR WOMEN IN RED, shines a spotlight on what so many women face every day … I was absolutely blown away by this remarkable play. We need art to work for us directly sometimes. This is a powerful and brilliantly written portrait of women who find strength in each other to fight together for justice.” —Samantha Simmonds-Ronceros, NoHo Arts District

“… the world premiere of a tremendously important and entertaining drama, FOUR WOMEN IN RED. The winner of the Los Angeles New Play Project Playwriting Award, this poignant, powerful production dramatizes the troubling issue of MMIW — Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women … Just as those who enjoy theater that entertains as well as enlightens auds about major topical issues should flock to see FOUR WOMEN IN RED, a Bertolt Brecht-like ‘Lehrstücke’ or learning play, intended to educate and spur action.” —Ed Rampell, Hollywood Progressive

“FOUR WOMEN IN RED is fascinating, entertaining, educational — and a must-see for anyone interested in a current incendiary topic which is also a mystery with political ramifications.” —Elaine Mura, Splash Magazine

“FOUR WOMEN IN RED is a powerful story that contributes to raise awareness of this critical issue. The four actresses deliver a moving message of empathy and solidarity in a time of need. It’s a play that has to be seen to really understand the nature and urgency of the situation. And hopefully, like in the case of Marie’s podcast, this play can help spread the word and call for action.” —Glamgical Blog
