Author
Jess Winfield
At age 19, Jess became a founding member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, beginning the long development of THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED), the second-longest running comedy in West End history. He directed the play’s first Off-Broadway production, edited all of its resulting print editions, and, with Daniel Singer, oversaw its two major revisions. As an animation writer and producer, Jess won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Disney’s Teacher’s Pet and was a show runner on Stitch! — The Movie, Lilo and Stitch — The Series, and Leroy and Stitch. Other cartoon credits include Sonic the Hedgehog, Transformers: Beast Wars, The Incredible Hulk, Tarzan and Jane, Hercules: The Series, Mickey Mouseworks, and Penguins of Madagascar. His voice acting includes the role of Jumba Jookiba in the English language versions of the Japanese anime Stitch! and the Chinese series Stitch and Ai. In 2008, Twelve Books (Hachette) published the decidedly non-child-friendly My Name Is Will: A Novel of Sex, Drugs, and Shakespeare, a California Book Award nominee and a New York Times Book Review “Editor’s Choice.” He lives in Los Angeles with his spouse Sa, works as a Senior Editor for American Road magazine, and is currently obsessed with soccer.
